There is a limit to wholesale discounts -- can you really buy iPhones at less than £200? Because I think that's the interesting price point. I could see an existing HW supplier doing this on the side; they could just rent out kit and then resell it as "refurbished" once it comes back in. Overall, they would have a profit without having to change almost anything in logistic terms. You could propose it as joint-venture to somebody like MicroDirect or Scan...
